To ensure quality services, I continuously upgrade my skills. In recent years, I have taken college level courses in web development, Oracle database management and graphic design. Graphic design training is particularly important for successful web projects.
Software used in web development projects include: HTML, XHTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop and variety of other software packages to manipulate photos and graphic images.
I provide training in Web Develop products, Project Management and MS Office Suite.
I have worked extensively in the federal and private sectors for organizations such as the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute, EEI, One Source Associates, WSSC, DC Courts , Freddie Mac, Hewlett-Packard, Federal Reserve, BNA, US Administrative Courts, FAA, Navy, Prince Georges County Circuit Court, and the USDA Graduate School.
As the manager of the Information Resource Center, I established the Institution’s first computer help desk, developed a computer training program and other types of technical support for the Smithsonian staff. Prepared federal budget requests. Managed a staff of five. Participated in the development of strategic planning documents for information and technology resources institution-wide.
Made recommendations in regard to effective uses of technology and evaluated requests for proposals.
Duties evolved from newsletter writing, to training and technical support for students and faculty at the university’s academic computer center and then to supervising a staff of 20 part-time student technical assistants. Also became responsible for supporting personal computers after they were first acquired by the university in the early 1980s.
